What is GPS
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a U.S.- owned utility that provides users with positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services. This system consists of three segments: the space segment, the control segment, and the user segment. The U.S. Air Force develops, maintains, and operates the space and control segments.
Is it free?
Yes it is free. Normally this feature is for free lifetime. That means when you install the target app on the target user, you can use it forever without paying the fee.
What the app supports (features)?
1 - GPS Tracking (Location tracking):
The app allows you to track the GPS of the target device. With a predefined timer - for example, 15 minutes or 30 minutes, the GPS information of the target device will be recorded and sent to the server every predefined interval value. Every x minutes you can see the new data (location) of the target device.
Of course, in trial mode (or free mode) the interval value will be fixed - for example 30 minutes only. If you need 5 minutes you should make a license.
You can use this feature with your online user control website (CPanel) or with Viewer App.
2 - View historical GPS:
You can view the history of the locations such as where and when the target device moved - for example yesterday, last 1 week ...
Remember that we just keep the maximum last 30 days of this history. So you should export the history to your computer and then even you can view it again with Google Maps later.
3 - Get real-time GPS info:
Instead of waiting for a predefined interval (default = 30 minutes) you can get GPS location in real-time. As long as you want you can get immediately where and when the target device is.
That means it allows you to just get the current device location at a particular time and can help conserve device battery life.
4 - Playback the historical GPS locations:
You can playback the historical locations - it shows the routes, addresses...
How to use
Inside your online portal (CPanel website), in the left menu, click the sub-menu name such as GPS Tracking (or sometimes it is GPS or GPS location or GPS history).
Notes:
1 - At the time the device read GPS information, the device must have a internet connection (GPS needs a internet connection).
2 - At the time the app attempt to send GPS info to the server, it also needs a internet connection.
3 - The Location option must be turned on.
In case it was turned off, the app will attempt to turn it on automatically and will turn it off again after reading GPS successfully.
It does not work well in some versions of the app, so sometimes you should turn on by manually - in case you (the parent) have a chance to keep the target device (your child's device) in your hand to do it.
